We are a group of NRA Certified Instructors and Training Counselors in the Northern Virginia area who have gotten together to provide firearms instruction to the general public. While we all have varying backgrounds and professions, we all have one thing in common – Scouting.
We are all very involved in Boy Scouts, either at the Unit or District level. Most of us became instructors because we wanted to set up a Shooting Sports Venturing Crew in the Colonial District of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC). In order to take Scout youth on shooting events, we needed to be rated as Instructors in the discipline. For example, to run a Rifle Merit Badge program, we had to be Rifle Instructors.

We worked long and hard to get our Instructor ratings, and even longer to get our Training Counselor ratings. Now that we have them, we provide shooting sports program support to Scout Units in the NCAC. We also provide support and guidance to the NCAC’s Shooting Sports Committee, and have set up a series of Instructor courses for other adults in the Scouting community that would like to provide shooting sports programs within their Units.

Now that we have accomplished that, we wanted to provide our services to the general public, because we feel that there are not enough qualified Instructors, or classes, in the region. We invite you to take a course with us. If we do not have a course available that suits your needs, please contact us to see if we can arrange a special class for you; especially for families or groups. If we can’t meet your needs, please feel free to contact one of the instructors listed on the side bar. We have worked with all of them in the past and can recommend any of them as competent instructors.
